When the new years rolls around everyone is trying to get into some good habits! It’s easy to get lost in the excitement of the new year and forget about the things you planned on adding into your routine. It’s never too late for a fresh start though!

A new trend that has been hitting social media is goal/habit tracking! This is a way to make sure you’re hitting your daily goals in a satisfying way.

What is a habit tracker?

A habit tracker is a chart that tracks your daily habits! For a lot of people these habits include working out, drinking water, taking your vitamins and supplements. The habit tracker is just an easy way to mark reaching these goals on a daily basis to create a sense of accountability. By the end of the week, month, and year it’s very satisfying to see how many days you completed your daily goals!

What kinds of habits do I track?

The healthiest habits are the best ones to track. A lot of habit trackers are meant to help restore a sense of balance that is thrown off from the chaos of everyday life and instead serve as a mental health checkpoint to make sure you’re taking time for you everyday. Here are some good habits to include on your habit tracker!

  • Drinking 64oz of water
  • Meditating
  • Going for a walk outside
  • Reading
  • Exercising
  • Taking vitamins
  • Making your bed
  • Flossing
  • Taking CBD

The habits can be anything that makes YOU feel good! The goals don’t have to be hard or strenuous they just have to be goals you can achieve in your daily life.

Why use a habit tracker?

With all the chaos that happens in your life sometimes its good to take a step back and focus on all that you’ve been doing for yourself. A habit tracker can provide immediate satisfaction when you realize you hit all your goals for that term. Seeing your timeline laid out in front of you also helps focus more on the process and progress rather than on that “what’s next?” feeling.

What happens if I miss a day?

If you don’t complete your goals that day it’s okay! The habit tracker is supposed to help guide you to better habits, not punish you for not completing a goal. By creating a habit tracker with small achievable goals you’re more likely to actually get into the habit of doing these things rather than forcing yourself to do them. You don’t want to put things on your habit tracker that you know you can’t complete. If you do have some big goals, try breaking them down into smaller parts. Working towards small goals is the best way to reach those big ones!

Whether you’re doing your goals daily, twice a week, or once a month it’s good to keep track of your habits and goals so that you can be your best self! Remember start small! It’s about the process of getting into better habits so enjoy each moment.
